Learn how to make I-cord and tassels. Then make this beautiful neck piece.
Yarn: approximately 100 yards
Needles: two double-pointed needles, any size
I-cord making
is the method employed to produce three dimensional cording.

1. This technique requires two double pointed needles. Cast on the desired number of stitches.

2. Work the first row in garter stitch. |

3. Once the first row is finished don’t turn your work. Instead keep the right side of the work facing you and slide the stitches to the other end of the needle. Bring the working yarn forward. Continue working in this manner until you begin to create a “tube”. During the initial rows of I-cord the wrong side may resemble little ladders. The laddering will slowly be eliminated if you continue to work the I-cord while maintaining tension.

4. Work the tube to the desired length. |
Making Tassels

Cut twenty (24 inches long) lengths of yarn 24 inches long.
(Five pieces of yarn for each end of the I-cord.)
Then thread the yarn through the end of the I-cord. |

Ensured that all ends are the same length. Then tie a square knot near the end of the I-cord to secure the tassel. Trim the ends if needed. |
